You can create a fireplace by combining 1 short stick with 1 piece of any kindling (paper, bark, rag, or bandage). Once created, you can light the fire with any ignition source (lighter, matches, road flare, hand drill kit, blow torch, torch, or lit broom).

The quickest way to start an early fire is to create a fireplace by combining 1 short stick and 1 rag and then crafting a hand drill kit by combining 1 piece of bark and 1 short stick. Use the hand drill kit to ignite the fireplace. Bark can be obtained by using a sharp object (knife, hatchet, etc.) on the trunk of a medium or large tree.

If you have an ignition source already, you can place any kindling on the ground and ignite it with the ignition source. This will create a fast-burning fireplace with no fuel. You can add short sticks or firewood to the fireplace to keep it going.
